COPENHELL CELEBRATES 15 YEARS IN HELL WITH NEW FESTIVAL SONG AND MAJOR ALL-STAR SHOW
COPENHELL marks its 15th festival with the song “HellWalkers”, created by a special lineup of musicians from vastly different corners of the Danish heavy music scene. The celebrations continue this summer with a major all-star show bringing together the very best of the Danish metal scene.
When COPENHELL marked the festival’s 10th anniversary in 2019 by uniting the heavy music scene, the result was the anthem “Omvendt Korstog” by musicians from the Danish bands Dizzy Mizz Lizzy, D-A-D, Bersærk and Pretty Maids, along with a grand anniversary concert. Now in 2026, as the 15th edition of COPENHELL rolls across Refshaleøen, we are repeating that success in an entirely new form.
COPENHELL’s new festival song is called “HellWalkers” and has been created by a truly special lineup of musicians from vastly different corners of the Danish heavy music scene: John Cxnnor alongside “The Doom Squad”, consisting of Asger Mygind (Vola), Marika Hyldmar (Xenoblight), Thomas Burø (Lack) and Kriigerkvlt (Heilung).
“HellWalkers” is a brutal and hypnotic industrial track — or “Doom Rave”, as John Cxnnor would call the genre: A doomsday soundtrack where mechanical beats and dark synthesizers meet human vocals from across the Danish metal scene. The result is hard, ugly and dirty in all the right ways.
The idea behind the track has been to bring together powerful Danish musicians across genres and traditions, and develop something entirely new: Heavy electronic music from some of the country’s most brutal metal musicians. A place where humans meet the machine, and where artists dare to step outside their comfort zones and play. The song draws on classic over-the-top aesthetics inspired by cult films of the eighties and dystopian universes, and is a dark, mechanical soundtrack to a world on the edge.
At the same time, “HellWalkers” is a tribute to COPENHELL’s audience – because it’s all of you who are the HellWalkers: the horde of festival guests who march toward Copenhagen every year to celebrate darkness, abandon and community together.
Since 2010, COPENHELL has established itself as one of the biggest festivals in Denmark and one of the most prominent rock and metal festivals in Northern Europe. This June, COPENHELL will once again thunder across Refshaleøen, celebrating the magical community of heavy music for the 15th time.
“HellWalkers” is out now, and you can listen to it at https://adadenmark.lnk.to/HellWalkers – and you can pre-order it on limited purple or black 10″ vinyl at https://overtheunderrecords.com/.
All-star show unites the scene
COPENHELL’s 15th anniversary will be much more than a new festival song, as we can also reveal that Friday’s headline show on the Helvíti stage will be an entirely special all-star anniversary concert. A large number of Denmark’s finest musicians will take the stage together, crossing both geography and genres in a unique concert format that can only be experienced at COPENHELL 2026.
“From the very beginning, it has been essential to COPENHELL to gather and elevate the entire Danish heavy music scene. We’ve been doing that since 2010, and we cemented it with our 10th anniversary show on the Hades stage. Now we’re stepping it up a gear with the 15th anniversary show in 2026, taking place on the festival’s main stage on Friday evening. It will be a completely unique one-off performance, embracing the full spectrum – from brand new musicians to legends, and across every corner of every genre. The all-star show will be a tribute to the hard work and high quality of the Danish music scene, and at the same time a tribute to the community and togetherness that characterises the entire Danish heavy scene and its audience. COPENHELL’s guests can start looking forward to a wild concert with full-on sound, flames and fireworks!”, says festival director Jeppe Nissen.
Musicians confirmed so far include:
Tim Christensen (Dizzy Mizz Lizzy), Allan Tschicaja (Pretty Maids), Lars Evers (Bersærk), Casper Popp, Nicklas Sonne (Defecto), Rasmus G. Sejersen (LLNN, John Cxnnor), Ketil G. Sejersen (LLNN, John Cxnnor), Kai Uwe Faust and Kriigerkvlt (Heilung), Marika Hyldmar (Xenoblight), Thomas Burø (Lack), Asger Mygind (VOLA) and Soren Andersen (Glenn Hughes and others).
A handful of international musicians will also appear in the show, among others Linnea Vikström (Thundermother) and Gus G (Firewind, Ozzy Osbourne).
We will continuously announce many more participants as well as a number of the songs they will perform – and John Cxnnor and The Doom Squad will, of course, also perform “HellWalkers” live during the concert.
‘The All star-show” will take Twisted Sisters slot in the program on Friday night.
