COPENHELL 2026 is kicked off with a classic zombie movie
COPENHELL launches at true ’80s horror movie as the visual identity for COPENHELL 2026
COPENHELL presents a new cinematic campaign for the 2026 festival – a B-movie-inspired zombie story, directed and written in direct collaboration with the festival by Casper Balslev, commercial film director and founder of the production company new–land.
“COPENHELL changes its visual identity every year and leading up to this 15th edition of the festival, we’ve thrown ourselves into an idea that’s been simmering for years: Zombies! Zombies are incredibly metal – that old-school horror vibe with a festive twist practically screams COPENHELL. Luckily, Casper Balslev was up for playing along, and we’re thrilled with the film and the special atmosphere that defines our entire visual expression for 2026,” says COPENHELL’s Brand and Marketing Manager, Toke Holt.
Casper Balslev adds: “If there’s one thing I love, it’s ’80s horror B-movies – the kind you pulled down from the VHS shelf at the video store as a kid. I grew up with films like Night of the Living Dead, Return of the Living Dead and loads of other fantastic zombie flicks. The great thing here is that we could fully embrace and geek out on the aesthetics while also telling a story that actually has something to say – namely that COPENHELL is diverse. Because that’s what all good zombie films have: a point and something meaningful at heart, wrapped in a truly entertaining and gripping narrative.”
With the campaign “666 Reasons to Party”, COPENHELL makes it clear that Denmark’s biggest rock and metal festival isn’t just for hardcore headbangers, but a gathering place for everyone who loves community, energy – and, not least, hard rock and heavy metal!
