N/ABAD BREEDING from Stevenage are all about British hardcore with something on their mind, and they say it angrily, loudly and full of class consciousness. The band started in 2013 as a reaction to the way working-class towns like Stevenage are portrayed, and their sound is industrial anarcho-punk: raw hardcore intensity blended with experimental textures and inspiration from Crass, Flux of Pink Indians and Rudimentary Peni. The lyrics take direct aim at austerity politics, deindustrialisation and the lack of opportunity in British working-class communities.
Exiled from 2019 made Vive Le Rock’s list of the year’s best releases, and after Human Capital in 2022 came Contempt
in June 2024 on One Little Independent. The album was released together with a zine of essays on topics including homelessness, because for BAD BREEDING, music and message are inseparable. Expect a show that, more than anything, will feel like a massive, socially outraged wake-up call!
