EVERYONE IS WELCOME – AND EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT

All kinds of different people come together at COPENHELL. People with elaborately decorated battle vests. Parents with teenagers. Old hands who have seen all the big bands multiple times since the eighties. Young newcomers attending a festival for the very first time. We are truly a diverse bunch!

Among us are people with physical disabilities, people with autism, people with anxiety, people who use wheelchairs and people whose needs are not visible from the outside.

One person in a wheelchair is not all people in wheelchairs. One person with autism is not all people with autism. And not everyone with a disability wants help – or needs the same kind of help. That might sound obvious, but it is easy to forget when you genuinely want to help others.

The best thing you can do if you see a person with a disability struggling with something is to ask rather than assume. Ask: “Can I help you with something?” That is always far better than acting on behalf of someone who did not ask for it, and “no, thank you” is always a perfectly fine answer.
