Teater Lux presents a site-specific immersive theater performance in total darkness. The Island’s Demons Return Home is a dark story about metal, loyalty and a group of former B&W workers forced to labor as slaves for Lucifer in hell after their deaths. After decades of servitude, they now revolt and return to their old hunting grounds on Refshaleøen in search of raw, untamed power, human blood and energy — three elements they need to build strength and weapons to fight Lucifer and restore anarchy in hell. COPENHELL has an abundance of what they need, so who can consider themselves safe?

The performance lasts 13 minutes and uses all-encompassing 3D sound, acting and music featuring classic metal tracks to deceive the senses and transport the audience through time and space. How your story unfolds is partly up to you – but can you feel safe from the horrors lurking in the dark corners of your own mind?

About Teater Lux:

Teater Lux performances take place in total darkness to allow deep reflection. The audience is led to their seats in complete darkness and experiences the entire performance through senses other than sight, unable to see the stage, the performers, the musicians or the other audience members. Human sight accounts for only 70% of our total sensory experience and in the dark, words and sounds become tangible and intense. Tones and moods emerge more clearly when allowed to flow entirely undisturbed by visual impressions. Once accustomed to the darkness, it is as if all other senses are muted, and the actors, sounds, and music draw closer. Together, we dive into our collective subconscious and no one leaves the container until the performance is over.
